Our client, a prestigious luxury hospitality and wine estate in the Cape Winelands, is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to work within a dynamic environment that combines luxury hospitality, wine production, retail, and tourism operations.
Description
The successful candidate will support the Financial Manager and broader finance team in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all financial functions across the business. Responsibilities include cashbook processing and reconciliations, general ledger administration, debtor and creditor management, stock control administration, petty cash management, and assisting with day-to-day financial operations.
You will be responsible for issuing invoices, performing account reconciliations, processing supplier invoices, preparing payment schedules, assisting with monthly stock takes, and ensuring accurate financial record keeping. The role requires a high level of accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is looking to grow within a respected luxury brand.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 essential
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping (completed or in progress)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Experience within hospitality, agriculture, wine estates, or related industries advantageous
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Experience with Pastel (Sage) Evolution or similar accounting software
- Easipos experience advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Fluent in both English and Afrikaans
- Ability to take ownership and work effectively within a team environment
