Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Assistant Lodge Accounting Officer to join our team at a renowned safari lodge. As an Assistant Lodge Accounting Officer, you will play a key role in financial management, reporting, and internal control to ensure accurate and timely financial operations. You will be responsible for the correct authorization and allocation of business expenditures, maintaining accurate transaction records, preparing supplier payment requests, and managing payroll preparation and reconciliations. Additionally, you will assist in compiling budgets and quarterly forecasts, manage stock sheets, and oversee the lodge's financial performance through regular finance meetings.
Your responsibilities will also include safeguarding the company’s assets and resources by maintaining strict internal controls, conducting internal audits, and ensuring expenditure aligns with the budget. A strong focus on training lodge staff in accounting principles and systems will be crucial to your role.

Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years' finance degree or relevant qualification (CPA preferred).
- 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with essential Excel skills.
- Experience with PanStrat is advantageous.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Critical thinking with a high level of professional skepticism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, with a result-oriented and deadline-driven approach.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity.
