Our client, a globally recognised luxury regenerative retreat in the Franschhoek Valley, is seeking a passionate CDP / Commis Chef to join their culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who values seasonal cooking, sustainability, and deeply intentional hospitality experiences within a unique farm-to-table environment.

Description

The successful candidate will work closely with the senior culinary team to deliver nourishing, beautifully presented dishes inspired by the property’s regenerative philosophy and daily farm harvests. The kitchen focuses on conscious dining, seasonal ingredients, and creating meaningful guest experiences rooted in nature and connection.

 

Responsibilities include assisting with food preparation and service, maintaining exceptional hygiene and kitchen standards, supporting stock rotation and organisation, and contributing positively to a collaborative kitchen culture. This role requires a chef who thrives in a calm but high-standard environment and who is passionate about sustainability, creativity, and hospitality with purpose.

 

The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, highly organised, and comfortable working within a dynamic luxury hospitality operation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie within hospitality
  • Passion for seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine
  • Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Passion for sustainability and conscious hospitality
  • Culinary qualification advantageous
