Description

As a Coastal Field Guide, you will lead immersive land- and water-based experiences, introducing guests to the rich biodiversity, birdlife, marine environment and natural beauty of the region. You'll create memorable, educational and engaging excursions while maintaining the highest standards of guest safety and service. Working closely with the wider lodge team, you'll help deliver authentic outdoor experiences that showcase the area's unique coastal ecosystem.

 

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for conservation, excellent guest interaction skills and the ability to adapt experiences to suit a wide range of guests, from families to seasoned nature enthusiasts.

Minimum Requirements

  • FGASA qualification or equivalent guiding qualification
  • Coastal Guide qualification essential
  • Previous experience within a luxury lodge, eco-tourism or guiding environment
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills
  • Passion for marine conservation, birdlife and the natural environment
  • Skipper's Licence advantageous but not essential (training can be arranged for the right candidate)
  • Valid driver's licence
  • First Aid certification preferred
  • Professional, energetic and guest-focused approach
  • Available to work weekends and public holidays

 

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: Market Related (approximately R15,000 – R18,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience)
