Our client, a world-renowned luxury wine estate and hospitality destination located in Stellenbosch at the top of Helshoogte Pass, is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join their exceptional front-of-house leadership team. This iconic property is internationally recognised for its award-winning accommodation, fine dining, wine, art, and wellness experiences, and offers a truly multi-dimensional guest journey.

Description

The Duty Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily hotel operations and ensuring seamless coordination between all guest-facing departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and Maintenance.

 

Working closely with senior management, the successful candidate will act as Manager on Duty, ensuring the highest standards of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and service excellence are consistently maintained. This role requires strong leadership presence, excellent problem-solving ability, and the capacity to manage guest relations in a luxury environment where attention to detail is critical.

 

The Duty Manager will also be responsible for handling guest feedback, supporting service recovery where required, and ensuring all operational procedures align with the estate’s high standards of excellence and brand values. The role demands a calm, confident professional who can lead teams effectively while maintaining an exceptional guest experience at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Duty Manager or senior Front Office role within a 5-star hotel, luxury lodge, or high-end hospitality environment
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and guest experience management
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple departments and priorities under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Experience handling guest feedback and service recovery professionally
  • Hospitality qualification advantageous
  • Computer literate with experience in hotel systems advantageous
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
