Our client, a prestigious luxury safari lodge, is looking for an Executive Chef to oversee its culinary operations and deliver extraordinary dining experiences to discerning guests. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating innovative menus that reflect the rich flavors of the region while meeting the high standards of a world-class lodge.

You will lead a team of dedicated kitchen professionals, ensuring the highest quality and presentation of dishes, while managing inventory, food costs, and maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. This live-in position provides a unique opportunity to work in an inspiring and tranquil environment surrounded by nature.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute creative menus that showcase local ingredients and cater to diverse dietary requirements.
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and timely service.
  • Lead, train, and inspire a team of chefs and kitchen staff to maintain high standards of excellence.
  • Manage food costs, inventory, and sourcing of high-quality, local ingredients.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Collaborate with lodge management to create memorable dining experiences for guests.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a luxury lodge, boutique hotel, or fine dining establishment.
  • Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of contemporary cuisine and fine dining standards.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Experience in menu planning, food costing, and kitchen operations.
  • A passion for hospitality, sustainability, and creating unique guest experiences.
  • Ability to work in a remote, live-in environment and adapt to a flexible schedule.
