Our client, a leading wedding, events, and hospitality estate in Stellenbosch, is seeking an experienced F&B Manager / Culinary Lead to take ownership of the property's food and beverage operation. This senior leadership role is ideal for a commercially minded hospitality professional with a strong culinary background, exceptional leadership skills, and extensive experience within weddings, events, banqueting, or high-end hospitality environments.

Reporting to the Operational Manager and working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the food and beverage operation, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, profitable operations, and consistently high culinary standards.

 

The role combines strategic food and beverage management with hands-on culinary leadership. Responsibilities include overseeing all kitchen operations, menu development, food costing, stock control, supplier management, event readiness, quality assurance, hygiene compliance, and team leadership across all food service areas.

 

You will work closely with the events team to ensure flawless execution of weddings, corporate functions, private events, and guesthouse dining experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining strong profit margins, reducing waste, managing staffing requirements, and ensuring that every food and beverage touchpoint reflects the high standards expected of a premier hospitality destination.

 

This is an outstanding opportunity for a hospitality leader who understands both the operational and commercial aspects of food and beverage management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as an F&B Manager, Executive Chef, Head Chef, Culinary Lead, or similar senior hospitality leadership role
  • Strong experience within weddings, events, banqueting, or luxury hospitality operations
  • Demonstrated food costing, menu engineering, and financial management skills
  • Experience leading and developing kitchen and food service teams
  • Strong stock control, procurement, and supplier management experience
  • Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
  • Commercially minded with strong operational management skills
  • Exceptional organisational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced events environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Package

  • Salary: R40,000 – R55,000 per month, dependent on experience
  • Permanent position
  • Based in Stellenbosch
