Well KNown Agriculture Company based in Hoedspruit seeks for an experienced Accountant / Financial Clerk to support and strengthen the finance department by organising documents to improve efficiency, while performing administrative tasks to ensure the department adheres to the required group standards.
Description
- Obtain requisitions from managers and supervisors and ensure invoices comply with SARS requirements and are authorised by the relevant person
- Follow up on outstanding invoices, delivery notes and orders
- Process monthly wages on payroll software, including overtime, leave and payroll deductions, and update leave records
- Prepare contracts for new and temporary employees and ensure all contracts are duly signed
- Maintain personnel files and administrative records, including accurate data capturing
- Process financial data on Pastel
- Ensure journals are correctly numbered and signed off by the relevant employees
- Perform general administrative duties as required by the accountant
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency essential)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong reconciliation and data validation skills
- High integrity and confidentiality when handling payroll and staff information
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict payroll deadlines, especially during peak seasons
- Strong administrative discipline, communication, and interpersonal skills
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
- Diploma or Certificate in Payroll Administration, Human Resources, or Finance (advantageous)
- 2–3 years’ experience in a finance, payroll processing, and administrative role, preferably within agriculture or farm operations
- Experience with payroll systems such as Sage/Pastel Payroll, Donkerhoek, or similar
- Knowledge of South African labour law, tax regulations, and BCEA requirements.
