Our client, a growing and highly regarded Indian restaurant group renowned for its authentic cuisine, warm hospitality and vibrant dining experience, is seeking a professional and personable Front of House Coordinator / Hostess to join their Rosebank restaurant.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic hospitality professional with previous restaurant experience who enjoys interacting with guests, creating memorable first impressions and ensuring the smooth flow of front-of-house operations.

 

As the first point of contact for guests, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service, coordinating reservations, managing guest seating and supporting the Front of House team during service.

 

Description

  • Welcome guests warmly and provide a professional first impression.
  • Manage guest arrivals, reservations and the waiting list.
  • Coordinate seating arrangements to maximise restaurant flow and guest satisfaction.
  • Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
  • Answer telephone enquiries and assist with restaurant bookings.
  • Communicate effectively with the Restaurant Manager, Floor Manager and waitron team to ensure smooth service.
  • Monitor table availability and optimise seating during busy service periods.
  • Handle guest enquiries, special requests and complaints professionally.
  • Ensure the reception and entrance areas are clean, organised and welcoming at all times.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and brand presentation.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous restaurant experience is essential.
  • Previous experience as a Hostess, Front of House Coordinator, Receptionist or similar hospitality role is advantageous.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and confident communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Positive, friendly and welcoming personality.
  • Strong telephone etiquette and reservation management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Must live within 20 km of Rosebank.

 

Salary

R12,000 – R16,000 CTC per month, depending on experience and suitability.
