Our client, a luxury hotel in Cape Town, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Junior Duty Manager. This full-time role requires overseeing daily hotel operations, managing guest inquiries and requests, supervising staff, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer service-oriented mindset.

Description

As the Junior Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of service expected by our client. Reporting to the Director of F&B, you will be responsible for overseeing both Front Office and Food & Beverage operations. Your duties will include managing guest inquiries, supervising staff, and resolving any issues that may arise during the guests' stay. You will ensure that all operations run smoothly and efficiently, providing an exceptional experience for all guests.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily hotel operations, including Front Office and F&B departments.
  • Manage guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supervise and support hotel staff to ensure high standards of service.
  • Monitor and maintain guest satisfaction levels.
  • Address and resolve any issues that may arise during a guest's stay.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
  • Assist other departments as needed, displaying a 'can-do' attitude.

Minimum Requirements

  • Formal qualification in Hospitality is advantageous.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in Rooms and F&B, is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Opera & Micros systems.
  • International experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Driver’s license is essential.

 

Work Hours: Standard Hospitality shifts (06:00 – 15:00; 14:00 – 23:00)

 

Salary: R12,000 to R15,000 per month
