About the role

An established and well-regarded small animal clinic in the beautiful Cape Town region is seeking a skilled and experienced Veterinarian to join its dedicated team on a 6-month contract. The position will provide maternity leave cover and is ideally suited to a compassionate veterinary professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be: A qualified and experienced Veterinarian with small animal clinical experience Compassionate, dedicated and patient-focused Confident in managing a varied small animal caseload Professional, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team Committed to maintaining high standards of veterinary care Position details: Contract: 6 months – maternity leave cover Start date: October 2026 This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive veterinary team while enjoying the lifestyle and beauty that the Cape Town region has to offer. • Conducting routine and advanced medical consultations
• Diagnosing and managing a wide range of small animal medical conditions
• Performing surgical procedures and overseeing peri-operative patient care
• Delivering compassionate, clear client communication and education
• Managing in-hospital patients and contributing to treatment planning
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and adhering to hospital protocols

• SAVC Registration
• Updated CPD Points
• Excellent Communication Skills, Verbal and Written
• Relationship-building abilities and a love for animals
• Ability to take Sole charge when needed
• Sales Skills will be an advantage
