Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all back-of-house elements of the lodge operation, ensuring that the property is properly resourced, organised, maintained and operationally efficient at all times.
This is not an administrative-only position. You will oversee the systems, people, logistics and processes that keep a remote luxury lodge running seamlessly. Responsibilities will include operational administration, procurement, stock and inventory control, supplier coordination, logistics, maintenance coordination, staff administration, budgeting, reporting and ensuring that all departments have the support required to deliver five-star service.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a remote safari environment and able to take ownership, solve problems independently and maintain exceptionally high operational standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a 5-star luxury lodge environment
- Proven experience in lodge operations or senior back-of-house management
- Strong understanding of the operational requirements of a remote luxury safari lodge
- Experience managing procurement, stock control, inventory and logistics
- Strong financial administration, budgeting and reporting skills
- Experience coordinating maintenance, suppliers and contractors
- Excellent staff management and administrative abilities
- Strong computer literacy and systems knowledge
- Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
- Experience in Africa's luxury safari or lodge sector highly advantageous
- Professional, hands-on and solutions-driven leadership style
