Our client is recruiting experienced Maintenance Managers for two luxury safari lodge operations in the North West.
We are looking for technically capable, hands-on maintenance professionals who can lead the complete maintenance and engineering function within a demanding luxury lodge environment.
The positions require strong all-round technical knowledge combined with leadership, preventative maintenance, contractor management and property-maintenance experience.
Description
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead maintenance and engineering operations
- Manage electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC and structural maintenance
- Develop and manage preventative-maintenance programmes
- Conduct regular property inspections
- Identify maintenance, infrastructure and safety issues proactively
- Manage maintenance teams, artisans, technicians and contractors
- Ensure job cards and maintenance requests are completed promptly
- Manage maintenance budgets and cost controls
- Oversee inventory, equipment and maintenance supplies
- Coordinate specialist contractors and external service providers
- Manage supplier relationships
- Maintain maintenance logs and statutory documentation
- Ensure occupational health, safety and environmental compliance
- Support renovations and capital projects
- Implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives
- Provide emergency and standby maintenance support when required
The client requires responsibility for both day-to-day maintenance and longer-term preventative maintenance, asset protection and technical compliance.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Recognised technical qualification in Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical or a related trade
- Minimum 5 years' maintenance management experience
- Previous hotel, safari lodge or large-property maintenance experience preferred
- Strong all-round technical ability across Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Construction and Landscaping
- Experience managing maintenance teams and contractors
- Budget and cost-management experience
- Strong preventative-maintenance knowledge
- Sound understanding of building and technical systems
- Computer literate, including MS Office and maintenance systems
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Able to respond effectively to operational emergencies
