Due to the demographic and communication needs of the practice’s loyal patient base, the successful candidate must be fluent in Afrikaans and able to communicate confidently, compassionately, and professionally with predominantly Afrikaans-speaking patients. The ability to build trust and provide personalised care in Afrikaans is considered essential to ensuring an outstanding patient experience.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about eye health, committed to delivering accurate clinical care, and motivated to contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative team culture.
While 1–2 years of clinical experience is advantageous, enthusiastic and motivated new graduates with strong interpersonal and clinical capabilities are also encouraged to apply.

Description
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and driver screenings
- Assess ocular health and identify refractive, binocular vision, or other visual abnormalities
- Prescribe corrective lenses, therapies, or medications (within scope) where appropriate
- Assist patients with lens selections, coatings, and eyewear recommendations
- Perform contact lens fittings and provide aftercare support
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Work closely with dispensing and front-line teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Stay up to date with CPD requirements and advancements within the optometry field
Minimum Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor of Optometry qualification
- Be registered with the HPCSA
- Possess strong clinical and diagnostic abilities
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and excellent communication skills
- Be highly patient-focused with strong attention to detail
- Thrive in a fast-paced team environment
- Have good computer literacy and administrative accuracy
- Be passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and contributing positively to the practice culture
