A leading and rapidly expanding ophthalmology company is looking to appoint a motivated, dynamic, and technically minded Product & Application Specialist to join their growing team.
This exciting role combines technical product support, clinical training, and sales, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with healthcare professionals and advanced medical technology. The successful candidate will promote specialised ophthalmic products to Ophthalmologists while providing hands-on demonstrations and clinical support for ophthalmic theatre equipment. This includes attending surgical procedures to assist surgeons with the effective use of specialised equipment.
Comprehensive training will be provided, including international training with the equipment manufacturer, together with extensive local training at the South African Head Office across the company's product portfolio. A qualification in Optometry, Orthoptics, or a related healthcare field, or previous experience within the ophthalmic industry, will be highly advantageous.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales within an allocated territory, with a particular focus on capital equipment.
Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, planning and conducting customer visits, delivering product presentations and demonstrations, and providing ongoing technical support to Ophthalmologists, surgeons, and theatre staff.
Additional responsibilities include managing stock levels within practices and hospitals, coordinating equipment servicing and repairs to ensure optimal performance, and assisting with operational and people management responsibilities where required.

Minimum Requirements
- Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians & Ophthalmic Assistants will be considered
- Candidates in a similar role will have a strong advantage
- A qualification or experience in the ophthalmic industry would be an advantage
