Our client, a well-established boutique country hotel in the heart of Zululand, is seeking a friendly, professional, and service-driven Receptionist to join their front office team. Description

Reporting to the Front Office leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure.

 

The role involves managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations and enquiries, processing payments, maintaining accurate guest records, and assisting with general front office administration. The Receptionist will act as one of the primary points of contact for guests, providing information about the hotel, local attractions, activities, and services while ensuring every interaction reflects the property's high hospitality standards.

 

The successful candidate will be organised, professional, and able to remain calm under pressure while delivering outstanding guest service. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality are essential for success in this role.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in a hotel, lodge, guesthouse, or hospitality reception role preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong guest service and interpersonal abilities
  • Professional appearance and presentation
  • Good administrative and organisational skills
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with reservation or property management systems advantageous
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy hospitality environment

Package

  • Salary: R8,000 – R9,000 per month
  • Live-out position
  • 7% company contribution to Provident Fund (after successful completion of probation)
  • 50% company contribution towards Medical Aid (optional, after successful completion of probation)
  • Permanent position
