Our client, a well-known and vibrant contemporary restaurant and market destination in Stellenbosch, is seeking a dynamic Restaurant Manager to join their leadership team. Reporting directly to the Owner and Restaurant General Manager, this role is ideal for a hands-on hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and enjoys leading a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

 

Description

The Restaurant Manager will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of a busy and energetic restaurant environment. This position requires a strong floor presence, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage both staff and guest expectations with confidence and professionalism.

 

Responsibilities include supervising front-of-house operations, managing staff performance and scheduling, ensuring service standards are consistently maintained, and working closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth service delivery. The successful candidate will also assist with stock control, service efficiency, guest relations, and maintaining the overall atmosphere and standards of the establishment.

 

This role requires someone who leads from the front, is passionate about hospitality, and understands the importance of creating memorable guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence.

 

The position offers a salary of R22,000 – R25,000 per month, plus incentives, based on experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous Restaurant Manager or senior supervisory experience in a busy restaurant environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent guest relations and communication abilities
  • Solid understanding of restaurant operations and service standards
  • Experience with stock control, staff scheduling, and daily reporting
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Well-presented, professional, and service-driven
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
