A prestigious luxury safari lodge in the Eastern Cape is seeking an experienced Sous Chef / Villa Chef to take full responsibility for private villa dining experiences. This role is ideal for a skilled chef with strong experience in lodge kitchens, villa hospitality, and multi-outlet luxury food production, including hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, and desserts.
The successful candidate will run a dedicated villa kitchen end-to-end, ensuring an exceptional private dining experience for high-end international guests. This is a hands-on, guest-facing role requiring strong culinary ability, independence, and excellent communication skills.
Description
The Sous Chef / Villa Chef will be responsible for managing all aspects of villa kitchen operations, including menu execution, food preparation, stock control, and ordering of supplies. You will be expected to confidently handle all sections of the kitchen, including hot and cold production, as well as pastry and dessert preparation.
A key part of the role includes guest engagement, ensuring personalised dining experiences that reflect the luxury standards of the lodge. You will also collaborate with the broader culinary team when required and support lodge-wide food service operations during peak periods.
Strong organisational skills are essential, as you will be responsible for placing orders, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring smooth daily operations within your assigned villa.

Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience in a lodge or villa kitchen environment (essential)
- Strong all-round culinary ability (hot, cold, pastry, desserts)
- Experience running a kitchen independently
- Confident guest interaction and communication skills
- Ability to place orders and manage stock
- Team player able to support wider kitchen operations
- Willingness to work remote safari schedules
