Apply NowSummary
A well-established small animal hospital in the sought-after Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated and professional Veterinarian to join their close-knit and highly skilled team.
This progressive practice is known for delivering a high standard of small animal medicine and surgery, supported by an impressive range of modern equipment. The hospital is fully equipped with digital and dental radiography, multiple endoscopes, echocardiography and abdominal ultrasound capabilities, as well as a comprehensive in-house Idexx laboratory. Surgical facilities cater to both soft tissue and minor orthopaedic procedures, allowing for a diverse and rewarding caseload.
The team environment is collaborative and supportive, consisting of three veterinarians, two veterinary nurses, two hospital assistants, three customer relationship coordinators, and an accountant. The practice places strong emphasis on quality care, teamwork, and maintaining a positive working atmosphere.
This opportunity offers an excellent work-life balance, with no after-hours duties required. Patients needing overnight or intensive care are referred to nearby specialists and referral hospitals, ensuring manageable working hours and reduced stress for the team.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified and SAVC-registered Veterinarian with approximately 2–3 years of clinical experience. However, newly qualified graduates with the right attitude and eagerness to learn will also be considered. Due to the client base, proficiency in both English and Afrikaans is essential.
This role is particularly suited to a veterinarian who is passionate about advancing their clinical skills. There is also scope for a candidate with a special interest—or even specialist qualifications—in medicine or surgery to further develop their expertise within the practice. In addition, the hospital has recently introduced an exotic animal division, offering an exciting avenue for those interested in expanding into this field.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking, well-equipped practice that values professional growth, high standards of care, and a balanced lifestyle.
