Summary

Our client, a well-established and progressive veterinary practice, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Veterinary Nurse to join their supportive team in a unique dual-role position that combines hands-on nursing with hospital management responsibilities.

 

This opportunity is ideal for a qualified nurse who enjoys working beyond the consulting room and theatre environment and has an interest in the operational side of veterinary practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing nursing team, sharing responsibilities while helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the hospital.

 

The role offers a varied and rewarding workload, including nursing duties alongside the coordination and management of the pharmacy, hospital operations, veterinary team, and kennel staff. Administrative responsibilities are shared amongst the team depending on shift allocation, creating a collaborative and supportive working environment.

Working Hours:

Week 1:

Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 15:00

Week 2:

Monday to Friday: 11:00 – 19:00

Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00

Sunday: 09:00 – 12:00

 

There are no after-hours requirements, and public holiday duties are shared on a rotational basis between 09:00 and 12:00.

Minimum Requirements

  • Dip/Degree in Veterinary Nursing
  • SAVC Registration
  • Updated CPD Points
  • Excellent Communication Skills, Verbal and Written
  • Relationship Building Abilities AND A LOVE FOR ANIMALS
  • Sales Skills will be an advantage
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Fluent in Afrikaans & English
