Description
- General Nursing
- Preparing an animal for surgery
- Administering drugs, anaesthetic injections
- Monitoring anaesthetised patients during surgery
- Assisting the veterinarian in theatre with surgery when needed
- Undertaking diagnostic tests
- Performing in-house laboratory tests
- Taking and sending off laboratory samples
- Taking radiographs and preparing for scope procedures
- Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients
- Follow-up care which includes bandage change and suture removal
- Assisting with pharmacy orders and client communication
Minimum Requirements
- Registration with SAVC as a Veterinary Nurse.
- Dip Vet Nurse or BVSc Vet Nurse
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and patient advocacy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
