Description
- General Nursing
- Preparing an animal for surgery
- Administering drugs, anaesthetic injections
- Monitoring anaesthetised patients during surgery
- Assisting the veterinarian in the theatre with surgery when needed
- Undertaking diagnostic tests
- Performing in-house laboratory tests
- Taking and sending off laboratory samples
- Taking radiographs and preparing for scope procedures
- Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients
- Follow-up care, which includes bandage change and suture removal
- Assisting with pharmacy orders and client communication
Minimum Requirements
- Be a qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse and registered with the SAVC.
- Demonstrate strong patient care and hands-on nursing skills.
- Be confident in anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing procedures.
- Possess excellent communication and client service abilities.
- Perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Show initiative, a positive attitude, and strong teamwork skills.
