Description

  • General Nursing
  • Preparing an animal for surgery
  • Administering drugs, anaesthetic injections
  • Monitoring anaesthetised patients during surgery
  • Assisting the veterinarian in the theatre with surgery when needed
  • Undertaking diagnostic tests
  • Performing in-house laboratory tests
  • Taking and sending off laboratory samples
  • Taking radiographs and preparing for scope procedures
  • Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients
  • Follow-up care, which includes bandage change and suture removal
  • Assisting with pharmacy orders and client communication

Minimum Requirements

  • Be a qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse and registered with the SAVC.
  • Demonstrate strong patient care and hands-on nursing skills.
  • Be confident in anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing procedures.
  • Possess excellent communication and client service abilities.
  • Perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Show initiative, a positive attitude, and strong teamwork skills.
