Our client, a luxury boutique hotel and wellness destination in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an experienced Wellness Practitioner & Experience Curator to create exceptional, personalised wellness experiences for guests. This is a unique opportunity for a qualified yoga and wellness professional who combines specialist expertise with warm, intuitive and high-touch hospitality service.
Description
The successful candidate will design and facilitate yoga classes, guided meditation and mindfulness sessions, as well as sound-bath experiences for individual guests and small groups. Classes should be adaptable to varying abilities, with gentle, restorative, yin and beginner-friendly practices particularly valued.
A key focus of the role will be developing bespoke wellness itineraries for short stays and multi-day experiences based on individual guest goals, including relaxation, stress reset, recovery, mindfulness and digital detox. These experiences should thoughtfully combine wellness practices, rest periods, rituals and relevant hotel services.
The Wellness Practitioner will conduct brief consultations to understand guest needs, maintain serene and beautifully presented practice spaces, and work closely with the hotel team to coordinate bookings and create seamless guest journeys. The role will also involve facilitating wellness sessions for staff and continuously refining programmes based on guest feedback and emerging wellness trends.
This role requires someone who is calm, grounded, creative and exceptionally guest-focused, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative luxury hospitality team.
Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
Minimum Requirements
- Recognised yoga teacher certification, minimum RYT-200 or equivalent
- Proven experience teaching mixed-level, restorative and adaptive yoga
- Formal training and practical experience in guided meditation and mindfulness
- Practical experience facilitating sound healing/sound baths
- Proven ability to design structured wellness programmes and bespoke guest itineraries
- Warm, calm, empathetic and professional demeanour
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain immediately
- Fluent English; additional languages advantageous
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel, boutique hotel, spa, wellness resort or private-client environment advantageous
- Experience with breathwork, gentle mobility or complementary wellness practices advantageous
- High level of discretion, reliability and professional presentation
