About the role
Our client in Pretoria is recruiting for a Full Stack Developer (Senior) to join their team.
- Conduct with the feature team members, system analysis, design, development and testing for their assigned technical products or applications within the context of an agile/DevOps delivery model.
- Create solutions and solve problems using a cloud-native toolchain and AI coding assistants as a standard part of delivery.
- Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
- Work to ensure that systems are safe and secure against Cybersecurity threats.
- Create and maintain automated deployment pipelines to maintain quality control and deployment agility.
- Resolve escalated support topics as part of tier-2/3 DevOps team to ensure the highest availability of critical applications.
- Plan and execute upgrade of existing applications, tools, and features.
- Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter.
What they're looking for
Qualification/Experience:
- IT Degree / Diploma.
- Experience with Java applications, min 10+ years.
- Experience with Angular applications.
- Experience with AI-assisted/AI Augmented engineering practices.
Essential Skills:
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or equivalent).
- Understanding of context engineering principles for enterprise AI applications.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation, guardrails, and responsible AI practices.
- Secure coding practices.
- Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and AI orchestration frameworks is desirable.
- Languages: Java, Typescript.
- Frontend: Angular, JSF.
- Java Appserver: Glassfish, Glassfish Micro, Quarkus.
- Webserver: Apache, Nginx.
- CI/CD: Version Control, Build and Deployment Pipelines (Maven, GIT, Sonar, Jira, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Container registries)
- Infrastructure: Familiar with Cloud - AZURE(Preferred).
- Databases: (Oracle, PostgreSQL, PLSQL).
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes.
