About the role

A leading company representing some of the world’s leading sunglasses, optical frame and prescription lens brands is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join its dynamic marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or aspiring marketing professional to gain valuable hands-on experience within a fast-paced, multi-brand environment. The successful candidate will be exposed to a broad range of marketing activities, including brand management, trade marketing, social media, digital marketing, public relations, influencer marketing, events, product launches and marketing communications. You will work closely with the Marketing and Sales teams, as well as external agencies, suppliers and other stakeholders, gaining insight into how leading international brands are marketed within the local market. The role will suit someone who is creative, organised, detail-oriented and eager to learn, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. It offers an opportunity to develop practical marketing skills while contributing to the execution of campaigns, events, marketing materials and brand initiatives across multiple categories and brands.

  • Assist with the execution of brand and trade marketing activities across sunglasses, optical frames and prescription lenses.
  • Support brand communication, advertising, social media, PR and digital marketing activities.
  • Assist with creating and scheduling content for Facebook and Instagram.
  • Assist with developing brochures, presentations, email campaigns and other marketing materials.
  • Help maintain and update brand websites with relevant content.
  • Support product launches, promotions, training initiatives and visual merchandising activities.
  • Assist the Sales team with marketing tools and materials.
  • Support the organisation and execution of events, conferences and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate marketing projects, timelines and campaign deliverables.
  • Liaise with internal teams, agencies, suppliers, influencers and other external stakeholders.
  • Assist with product distribution to key opinion leaders and brand ambassadors.
  • Conduct market and competitor research and identify relevant trends and opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on marketing campaign performance.
  • Maintain marketing calendars, project trackers and marketing assets.
  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing department.

What they're looking for

  • Matric with a Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • English and Afrikaans language proficiency.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital marketing concepts.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive, hardworking, self-disciplined and adaptable.
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle required.
  • Advantageous: Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Illustrator.
