About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to join the team at a luxury country hotel in Mkuze, northern KwaZulu-Natal. This position requires someone who takes genuine pride in cleanliness, presentation and attention to detail and who can effectively supervise the daily housekeeping operation while remaining actively involved on the floor. The successful candidate will support the Housekeeping team in maintaining consistently high standards across guest rooms and public areas

• Supervise daily housekeeping operations and allocate duties to the team
• Conduct room inspections and ensure rooms are prepared to the required standard
• Monitor cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms and public areas
• Ensure housekeeping procedures and checklists are consistently followed
• Assist with training, coaching and supporting Housekeeping staff
• Monitor linen, amenities, guest supplies and cleaning materials
• Assist with stock counts and report shortages or discrepancies
• Ensure correct use and storage of cleaning products and equipment
• Report maintenance issues promptly and follow up where required
• Coordinate room readiness with Front Office and other departments
• Assist with guest requests and resolve housekeeping-related concerns professionally
• Maintain excellent hygiene, health and safety standards
• Remain hands-on and assist the team during busy periods
• Support opening, closing and shift handover procedures

What they're looking for

• Previous Housekeeping Supervisor experience within a hotel, lodge, resort or similar hospitality environment
• Strong practical housekeeping knowledge
• Good understanding of guest-room cleaning, room presentation and inspection standards
• Knowledge of linen, laundry, amenities and housekeeping stock controls
• Previous experience supervising or coordinating a housekeeping team
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to identify maintenance and presentation issues during inspections
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Confident communicating with staff and other hotel departments
• Reliable, hardworking and able to lead by example
• Professional and guest focused
• Able to work independently and take responsibility for standards
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Willing and able to work in Mkuze, KwaZulu-Natal
