About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Laundry Manager to oversee daily laundry operations at a busy luxury hotel in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining excellent linen and laundry standards while managing the team, workflow, stock and operational controls.
- Manage daily hotel laundry operations
- Supervise and allocate duties to laundry staff
- Monitor linen and laundry quality
- Maintain effective workflow and productivity
- Monitor linen stock and usage
- Assist with stock counts and controls
- Ensure correct washing, drying, ironing and handling procedures
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Monitor laundry equipment and report maintenance issues
- Control chemical and laundry-product usage
- Train and support laundry staff
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and other hotel departments
What they're looking for
- Previous Laundry Manager or Laundry Supervisor experience
- Hotel or commercial laundry experience strongly advantageous
- Good knowledge of laundry procedures and linen care
- Staff supervision experience
- Strong organisational skills
- Understanding of stock and linen controls
- Attention to detail
- Good productivity and workflow management
- Hands-on leadership style
- Able to work within a busy hospitality environment
