About the role

Our client is seeking two practical and reliable Maintenance Handymen to join the maintenance team at a luxury hotel in Durban. These are hands-on positions for individuals with good general property-maintenance skills who can assist with repairs and preventative maintenance across guest and operational areas.

• Carry out general hotel maintenance and repairs
• Assist with basic plumbing repairs
• Assist with minor electrical work within level of competence
• Complete painting and patching
• Assist with carpentry and furniture repairs
• Repair doors, locks, fittings and fixtures
• Attend to maintenance requests from hotel departments
• Assist with preventative maintenance
• Inspect equipment and report faults
• Maintain tools and work areas
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requirements
• Support the wider maintenance team as required

What they're looking for

• Previous handyman or general maintenance experience
• Hotel, commercial property or hospitality maintenance advantageous
• Practical knowledge of general repairs
• Basic plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry knowledge advantageous
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
• Reliable and hardworking
• Good problem-solving ability
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible regarding hospitality working hours
