About the role

We are recruiting an exceptional Senior Concierge for an exclusive, privately operated VIP luxury wellness retreat in the Karoo.

This remarkable property comprises just ten expansive luxury tented suites, each measuring approximately 320m² and offering the highest levels of privacy, comfort and personalised service.

Each suite features its own private plunge pool, floating pool, Jacuzzi, spa facilities, minibar, room service and dedicated private concierge. Guests enjoy individually tailored wellness experiences, including personalised dining and dietary menus.

Set within a spectacular natural wilderness, the retreat is home to the Big Five, more than 100 bird species and extraordinary indigenous fauna and flora, including species unique to the region.

Each luxury suite has its own dedicated concierge, responsible for attending to every aspect of the guests' stay, from arrival through to departure.

We are looking for a polished, intuitive and exceptionally well-organised hospitality professional who understands the expectations of discerning VIP guests. This is a highly personalised, hands-on position requiring outstanding attention to detail, discretion and the ability to anticipate guests' needs before they are expressed.

The Position

The Senior Concierge will take full ownership of the guest experience within their allocated luxury suite, coordinating every service and ensuring that each stay is effortless, memorable and entirely personalised.

The property is situated in a remote area of the Karoo, with the nearest town approximately 45 minutes away. Candidates must be comfortable living and working in a secluded environment.

Where a company vehicle is travelling into town, staff are welcome to make use of the available transport arrangements.

• Personally welcoming guests, managing check-in and check-out arrangements and remaining their dedicated point of contact throughout their stay.
• Attending to every detail of the guest experience, including individual preferences, special requests and personal arrangements.
• Coordinating daily staff rosters and ensuring that the relevant service teams are available when required.
• Organising nature drives, private activities and personalised wilderness experiences.
• Coordinating all dining arrangements, including private meals, room service, special occasions and individual dietary requirements.
• Arranging wellness activities and facilities, including spa treatments, yoga sessions, gym access and other personalised experiences.
• Ensuring that private minibars are fully stocked and tailored to individual guest preferences.
• Liaising closely with housekeeping to ensure that suites, private decks, pools and all guest facilities are maintained to immaculate standards.
• Coordinating with the kitchen, guiding, housekeeping and wellness teams to ensure that every element of the guest's stay runs smoothly.
• Handling special requests, last-minute changes and unexpected requirements calmly and efficiently.
• Maintaining absolute guest confidentiality and the highest standards of professional discretion.

What they're looking for

• Previous senior concierge experience within a premium five-star luxury safari lodge or similarly exclusive VIP hospitality environment is essential.
• Proven experience as a dedicated personal concierge, looking after individual VIP guests or private suites, rather than working in a conventional hotel concierge or guest relations department.
• A thorough understanding of ultra-luxury hospitality standards and highly personalised guest service.
• Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple departments, activities and guest requirements simultaneously.
• A naturally warm, engaging and confident personality, combined with impeccable manners and professional presentation.
• The ability to anticipate guests' needs, remember individual preferences and respond to requests with efficiency and discretion.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage comfortably with high-profile and discerning international guests.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the willingness to go well beyond conventional guest service expectations.
• A flexible, hands-on approach, with a genuine understanding that VIP hospitality often requires adapting to individual guest schedules and preferences.
• Own transport is essential.
