About the role

Our client is seeking knowledgeable and engaging Casual Wine Tutors to support the Wine Lounge team at a prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. This is a guest-facing role for someone with a genuine passion for South African wine, wine education and exceptional hospitality. You will guide guests through premium wine-tasting experiences while sharing wine knowledge in an approachable, engaging and memorable way

Key responsibilities include:

• Host and conduct tutored wine tastings
• Introduce guests to the estate's wines and different wine styles
• Explain varietals, vintages and relevant winemaking information
• Recommend wines according to guest preferences
• Deliver polished and engaging guest experiences
• Prepare tasting areas and glassware
• Serve wines correctly and responsibly
• Maintain excellent Wine Lounge presentation
• Assist with wine and related product sales
• Support the wider Wine Lounge team during busy periods
• Maintain strong product knowledge
• Follow service, stock and operational procedures

What they're looking for

• Previous wine tasting, wine service, hospitality or related experience advantageous
• Good knowledge of South African wine
• Formal wine qualification advantageous
• Genuine enthusiasm for wine and wine education
• Confident speaking to individuals and groups
• Excellent English communication skills
• Additional languages advantageous
• Professional and well presented
• Warm, engaging and guest focused
• Comfortable working in a luxury environment
• Available for casual shifts, including weekends and public holidays
