About the role

Our client is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Wine Tutor to join the Wine Lounge team at a prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch on a fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will conduct premium wine-tasting experiences for local and international guests, combining strong wine knowledge with polished, approachable hospitality.

• Conduct professional tutored wine tastings
• Introduce guests to the estate's wine portfolio
• Explain varietals, vintages, wine styles and relevant winemaking information
• Recommend wines according to guest preferences
• Provide knowledgeable and personalised guest service
• Prepare tasting stations and ensure correct glassware presentation
• Serve wines correctly and responsibly
• Assist with wine and related retail sales
• Maintain excellent Wine Lounge presentation
• Support stock and operational procedures
• Work closely with the wider Wine Lounge team
• Continuously develop product and wine knowledge

What they're looking for

• Previous wine tasting, wine service or premium hospitality experience advantageous
• Sound knowledge of South African wine
• Wine qualification advantageous
• Passionate about wine and hospitality
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Confident presenting to individuals and groups
• Professional and well presented
• Warm and engaging personality
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable engaging with discerning international guests
• Flexible to work weekends and public holidays
