About the role
An exciting opportunity is available for two Guest Relations Officers to join a prestigious 5-star luxury lodge in the Eastern Cape. We are looking for polished, guest-focused hospitality professionals with previous Front of House or Guest Relations experience within a 4/5-star lodge or luxury hospitality environment. The successful candidates will support Lodge Management with the daily operation of the lodge while ensuring guests receive an exceptional, personalised experience throughout their stay.
- Welcome guests and assist with check-ins and check-outs
- Attend to guest requests and requirements throughout their stay
- Provide professional guest hosting and build strong guest relationships
- Support the Lodge Manager and Assistant Lodge Manager with daily lodge operations
- Conduct housekeeping checks according to required 5-star standards
- Supervise restaurant operations before and during meal services
- Support service staff and ensure company service standards are maintained
- Ensure meal presentation and service standards are adhered to
- Assist with Food & Beverage service and guest hosting
- Liaise with senior lodge management regarding operational issues, variances and improvement opportunities
- Assist with stock counts
- Assist with weekly and monthly operational reports
- Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage teams
- Ensure consistently high standards throughout all guest-facing areas
What they're looking for
- Hotel Management Diploma/Certificate or equivalent
- Minimum 1–2 years’ Front of House, Guest Relations or similar experience
- Previous 4/5-star lodge or luxury hospitality experience
- Good knowledge of Food & Beverage Service, Housekeeping and Front Office
- Excellent spoken English
- Professional, polished and well-presented
- Strong guest relations and hosting skills
- Knowledge of butler-style service advantageous
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Knowledge of Lightspeed, Sage Evolution and Protel advantageous
- Strong attention to detail
- Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Driver’s licence preferred
- Willing to work a 21/7 lodge cycle in the Eastern Cape
