About the role
Our client based in Pretoria CBD is looking for an Application Technical Specialist on a full time contract basis. Contract up to the end of December 2027. To be based fully on-site. (no hybrid) The main purpose of this position is to support, maintain and enhance Business Solutions and Technology applications to ensure systems availability, health and optimal performance.
- To maintain applications by applying corrective measures (such as patches, upgrades, bug fixes).
- To proactively monitor all application upgrades, new releases and product replacements which would affect the assigned application.
- To configure the application infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and install new features to enable new functionality.
- To investigate and resolve medium-high complexity technical issues by interacting with users, developers, and other stakeholders on allocated applications.
- To provide reporting and recommendations on solution performance and system availability to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- To proactively manage business and stakeholder relationships with respect to application support.
- To keep abreast of best practices and technologies as well as ensure application thereof where relevant.
- To impart knowledge of the technical environment to the system development team.
- To maintain compliance to security & application Standards.
- Key technologies to be supported include but is not limited to SharePoint on-prem (Subscription Edition), Vizor, MS Windows Server 2019/2022/2025.
- After hours standby and implementing production changes after hours.
- Attending and assisting with business continuity exercises after hours.
What they're looking for
- A Degree (NQF 7) in Computer Science, Information Management/Information Technology or equivalent.
- A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in SharePoint on-prem administration.
- Solid knowledge of Azure infrastructure including Data gateway service.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, TCP/IP, VLAN.
- A SharePoint on-prem administration certification.
- Experience with setting up, maintaining and upgrading SharePoint on-prem environments.
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting SharePoint on-prem issues.
- Experience with remediating vulnerabilities identified during scans.
