About the role

We are seeking a professional, well-presented and guest-focused Assistant Lodge Manager to join a luxury 5-star lodge establishment. The successful candidate will support the Lodge Manager with the smooth day-to-day operation of the lodge while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and consistently high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lodge Manager or senior management with the daily operations of the lodge
  • Conduct housekeeping checks according to established 5-star standards
  • Supervise restaurant operations before and during meal services
  • Support and guide restaurant/service staff to ensure company standards are maintained
  • Ensure meal and presentation standards are met before dishes leave the kitchen
  • Check guests in and out and attend to guest requests throughout their stay
  • Respond promptly to requests for additional services and supplies
  • Liaise with senior lodge management regarding operational anomalies, variances and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist with stock counts and the preparation of weekly and monthly reports
  • Ensure consistently high standards across Front Office, Food & Beverage and Housekeeping
  • Contribute positively to team performance and overall guest satisfaction

What they're looking for

  • Hotel Management Diploma, Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a Front of House or similar position within a 5-star lodge or luxury hospitality establishment
  • Strong guest relations and communication skills
  • Well-spoken and professionally presented
  • Customer-focused with a passion for hospitality
  • Computer literate with intermediate MS Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Lightspeed, Sage Evolution and Protel will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of hosting and/or Butler services
  • Driver’s Licence preferred
  • Good knowledge of Food & Beverage Service, Housekeeping and Front Office
  • IMPORTANT: Candidates must have previous experience in a 5-star lodge or similar luxury hospitality environment to be considered.
