About the role

An established Johannesburg-based events and hospitality company is expanding its Cape Town operations and is looking for a hands-on Events Operations & Logistics Manager to help build and run the regional operation. The company manages bar and hospitality infrastructure at major sporting venues, stadiums and large-scale events. This role sits at the centre of the operation, covering event logistics, inventory and warehouse control, supplier co-ordination, equipment maintenance, venue setup and post-event breakdown. This is a mid-level position suited to a capable, ambitious operator who already understands events, logistics or high-volume hospitality environments and is ready to take on greater responsibility. We are looking for someone practical, energetic and highly organised who is comfortable getting involved wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and co-ordinate the operational logistics for events across Cape Town
  • Manage event stock, equipment and bar infrastructure from dispatch through to return
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, stock reconciliations and control measures
  • Oversee warehouse organisation, stock movement and equipment storage
  • Co-ordinate deliveries, collections, loading, setup and breakdown at event venues
  • Work closely with external suppliers, venue teams and service providers
  • Ensure bar fridges, mobile bars and other operational equipment are maintained and ready for use
  • Oversee the cleaning of equipment and infrastructure before and after events
  • Manage post-event stock returns, reconciliation and venue clearance
  • Identify stock discrepancies, losses, breakages and operational risks
  • Ensure event setup and operations meet required safety, hygiene and compliance standards
  • Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate records using Excel and relevant systems
  • Support the development and growth of the company’s Cape Town operation

What they're looking for

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in events operations, logistics, warehousing, inventory management or high-volume hospitality
  • A sound understanding of stock control, stock reconciliation and warehouse processes
  • Previous exposure to large events, stadium operations, mobile bars, catering or beverage operations would be highly advantageous
  • Strong Excel skills and general computer literacy
  • Comfortable dealing with suppliers, venues and operational teams
  • Able to remain calm, organised and decisive in busy, high-pressure environments
  • Willing to work hands-on and assist with practical operational requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and a firm approach to controls and accountability
  • Available to work weekends, evenings and event-related hours as required
  • Ambitious and keen to grow into a broader regional leadership role

This is not a conventional Monday-to-Friday management position. The busiest operational periods are often over weekends and around major fixtures and events. Candidates must be comfortable working according to the needs of the business.

Training and ongoing support will be provided by the Johannesburg head office.
