About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on F&B Duty Manager to join the Food & Beverage team of an established waterfront hotel in Cape Town. We are looking for a confident hospitality professional who can lead from the floor, maintain excellent service standards and support the smooth running of daily restaurant, bar and broader F&B operations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supervise daily Food & Beverage operations
• Maintain strong guest service and presentation standards
• Lead restaurant and bar teams during assigned shifts
• Conduct pre-service briefings and allocate duties
• Monitor service flow and respond to operational challenges
• Handle guest requests, feedback and service recovery professionally
• Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly
• Assist with stock controls and operational procedures
• Monitor cleanliness, hygiene and readiness of F&B areas
• Support staff training, coaching and performance
• Coordinate effectively with Kitchen, Front Office and other hotel departments
• Assist with functions, groups and special events when required
• Ensure company SOPs and health and safety requirements are followed

• Proven previous experience in Food & Beverage operations
• Supervisory or Duty Management experience within a hotel, restaurant or similar hospitality environment
• Strong restaurant and bar operational knowledge
• Excellent guest relations and communication skills
• Confident floor leadership ability
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of stock and operational controls
• Professional and well presented
• Able to remain calm during busy services
• Hands-on leadership style
• Flexible to work shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays
