About the role

Front of House Coordinator / Hostess – Restaurant – Rosebank, Johannesburg Salary: R12,000 – R15,000 CTC per month B-BBEE Vacancy: Indian Our client, a vibrant and established Indian restaurant brand in Rosebank, Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Front of House Coordinator / Hostess to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a polished, friendly and highly organised hospitality professional who enjoys working in a busy restaurant environment and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The restaurant seats approximately 150 guests for lunch and dinner, with the largest volume of seating typically taking place during evening service. This is a fast-paced, high-energy environment where the Front of House Coordinator / Hostess will play an important role in ensuring a seamless and welcoming guest experience.

• Welcome and warmly greet all guests upon arrival.
• Manage the reception and host station in a professional and organised manner.
• Manage guest bookings, reservations and enquiries.
• Coordinate table allocations and efficiently manage guest seating.
• Monitor guest flow and waiting times during busy services.
• Communicate effectively with the Front of House and Restaurant Management teams.
• Liaise with waitstaff and management to ensure smooth table turnover.
• Assist with coordinating large parties, VIP guests and special occasions.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to guest enquiries professionally.
• Maintain accurate reservation records and guest information.
• Handle guest requests and queries promptly and courteously.
• Assist with resolving minor guest concerns and escalate issues when required.
• Maintain a polished, welcoming and professional appearance at all times.
• Ensure the reception and entrance area is clean, organised and presentable.
• Build positive relationships with regular guests and provide personalised service.
• Assist the Front of House Manager with daily operational duties as required.
• Support the team in maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction.

What they're looking for

• Previous restaurant, hostess or Front of House experience is essential.
• Experience in a busy, high-volume restaurant environment is advantageous.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Warm, friendly and professional personality.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Confident managing reservations, bookings and guest seating.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
• Strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
• Well-presented with a professional approach.
• Ability to work shifts and 6 days per week.
• Must live within approximately 25 km of Rosebank, Johannesburg.

Package

Salary: R12,000 – R15,000 CTC per month

This is a shift-based role working 6 days per week.
