About the role
Our client is seeking a polished and highly organised Hostess & Reservations Coordinator to join an award-winning fine dining restaurant in Stellenbosch. This guest-facing role combines restaurant hosting with detailed reservations coordination and is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a sophisticated, high-service environment
- As the first point of contact for guests, you will play an important role in creating a warm, professional and seamless dining experience.
- Responsibilities include welcoming and seating guests, managing table allocations, communicating VIP arrivals and special requests, answering enquiries and supporting the smooth flow of front-of-house service.
- On the reservations side, you will manage enquiries received by telephone and email, maintain accurate booking records, confirm reservations and administer quotes, invoices and payments. You will ensure the DinePlan system is kept fully updated and coordinate special arrangements where required, including menus, site inspections and guest logistics.
- The role requires close communication with the restaurant, kitchen and wider hospitality teams to ensure every guest experience is carefully coordinated.
What they're looking for
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Hospitality or Tourism qualification advantageous
- 1–3 years' experience in restaurant hosting, reservations or luxury hospitality
- Previous experience with reservation and booking systems
- DinePlan knowledge advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent telephone manner and written communication
- Warm, polished and professional guest engagement skills
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
- Comfortable handling reservations, payments and administrative processes
- Able to remain composed in a busy fine dining environment
- Reliable, adaptable and team orientated
- Own reliable transport and valid driver's licence
- Available for evenings, weekends and public holidays as operationally required
