About the role

Well Known Agriculture Company based in Pretoria Seeks Operations Manager in there Financial Services Team

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager: Operations (OFS).

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the implementation of strategic plans to achieve business objectives, drive profit, improve and optimise OBARO Financial Services
• Create, maintain, implement and review financial policies and structures that encourage cost and operational effectiveness while embedding the principles of good governance
• Keep abreast of the current market and industry issues, regulations, policies and maintain relationships with the regulators and industry stakeholders
• Maximize business development opportunities through leveraging of networks
• Attending credit committee meetings and act as chairman of the committee
• Manage the Financial Services team
• Maintaining the mission, vision and values of the company
• Credit risk identification and management;
• Preparing reports of credit department performance and presenting them to management
• Provide support in managing information systems to promote customer service delivery
• Liaison with the Legal and Collection Division as well as the management of high risk customers to ensure that the percentage of bad debt within the managing company guidelines
• Continuous monitoring and management of performance of debtors book
• Liaison with internal and external role players;
• Review and oversee correspondence with attorneys, clients, and internal attorneys
• Maintaining expert knowledge on appropriate legislative amendments, industry best practices and providing proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders
• Ensure that relevant legislation is complied with
• Monitor productivity and efficiency levels to improve the credit process and timely handling of applications
• Updating and formulating the credit policy taking into account a changed environment and legislation
• Coach, motivate, and challenge credit team to deliver quality projects and develop their skills
• Grow existing and new debtors within the company's budgetary guidelines and risk profile by identifying opportunities where product ranges can be extended

to customers

• Development of new financing products
• Prepare presentations and present them to investors and other external stakeholders; and Support the General Manager with ad dock tasks

What they're looking for

• Minimum of Grade 12 qualification;
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance is compulsory, and further studies will be considered an advantage;
• Knowledge of the National Credit Act and compliance with regulatory legislation will be advantageous.
• Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (verbal and written communication);
• 3- 5 Years’ experience in management;
• 2- 4 Years’ relevant experience in data analysis will be advantageous;
• Prior experience in agriculture finance will be advantageous;
• Being able to adapt to change environments and work processes;
• High degree of taking ownership and responsibility;
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office;
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
• Sound knowledge of statistical processes and best practice trends.
• Experience in presenting statistical data to management teams; and
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
