About the role
An established and welcoming optometry practice is seeking an enthusiastic, professional and patient-oriented Optometrist to join its team. As the sole Optometrist within the practice, the successful candidate will play an important role in the continued success of the practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist who enjoys working independently, building meaningful patient relationships and taking an active interest in the overall growth of a practice. Working Hours Full-Time Option Monday to Friday: 08:30–17:00 Every second Saturday: 10:00–13:00 OR Part-Time Option 3 days per week: 08:30–17:00 Every second Saturday: 10:00–13:00 A minimum of two years’ practical experience will be advantageous; however, the practice is also open to considering the right candidate who demonstrates the appropriate personality, professionalism and commitment. - The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive eye examinations and professional clinical assessments
- Building and maintaining strong, lasting relationships with patients
- Providing expert advice on spectacles and contact lenses
- Dispensing and fitting spectacles
- Conducting patient follow-ups and delivering exceptional customer service
- Assisting with the day-to-day management and smooth running of the practice
- Taking an active role in the growth, development and success of the practice
What they're looking for
- Is qualified and HPCSA-registered to practise as an Optometrist
- Is fluent in both Afrikaans and English
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Has a warm, friendly and professional manner
- Places patient care and exceptional service at the forefront of their work
- Is confident working independently and taking responsibility
- Has a strong attention to detail and genuine passion for optometry
