About the role

Our client is seeking a talented Spa Therapist & Wellness Practitioner to join the spa team at a luxury country hotel in Mkuze, northern KwaZulu-Natal. This is first and foremost a hands-on Spa Therapist position, but with an exciting additional dimension. The successful candidate must bring an additional wellness skill such as Yoga, Pilates, Guided Stretching, Mobility, Breathwork or a similar discipline. Alongside delivering professional spa treatments, you will lead individual and small-group wellness sessions, helping create a more holistic guest experience that extends beyond the treatment room.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver professional massage, body and spa treatments
• Consult with guests and tailor treatments appropriately
• Maintain exceptional treatment, hygiene and guest-care standards
• Recommend suitable treatments and products based on individual guest needs
• Build positive relationships with hotel guests and repeat spa clients
• Lead scheduled wellness sessions for individuals and small groups
• Deliver Yoga, Pilates, Stretching, Mobility, Breathwork or other sessions according to your qualifications
• Adapt wellness activities for different ages, abilities and experience levels
• Offer private one-to-one wellness sessions where appropriate
• Help develop wellness experiences that complement the hotel's broader nature and outdoor offering
• Maintain immaculate treatment rooms and wellness areas
• Accurately record treatments and charges
• Assist with stocktakes and product controls
• Support retail sales through knowledgeable, appropriate recommendations
• Assist with packages, retreats, groups and special wellness events
• Use quieter treatment periods proactively to support guest engagement and wellness activities

What they're looking for

• Recognised qualification in Beauty Therapy, Spa Therapy, Massage Therapy or a related discipline
• Strong practical massage and body-treatment skills
• Previous professional spa, hotel, lodge, resort or wellness experience
• An additional wellness skill is essential
• Qualification or demonstrable experience in Yoga, Pilates, Guided Stretching, Mobility, Breathwork or a comparable wellness discipline
• Confident leading individuals and small groups
• Warm, personable and genuinely guest focused
• Comfortable engaging with guests beyond the treatment room
• Good treatment and product knowledge
• Able to recommend treatments and retail products naturally without an overly sales-driven approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Professional, discreet and well presented
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently
• Experience with Dermalogica and/or Terres d'Afrique advantageous
• Flexible regarding weekends and public holidays
• Willing to live and work in Mkuze, KwaZulu-Natal
• Legally entitled to work in South Africa

Salary & Benefits

Base Salary: Negotiable / Market Related
