About the role
Contract | Hybrid Opportunity in Cape Town Leading Financial Services Group requires a Lead Software / Platform Engineer to join their dynamic team on a contracting basis.
- Own the containerisation architecture and platform decisions (ECS vs EKS, Fargate vs EC2)
- Defines the Go-vs-Java decision framework
- Builds platform scaffolding (base images, CI/CD templates, observability integration)
- Defines the migration pattern and playbook and produces ADRs
- Provide technical guidance to Intermediate Engineer
What they're looking for
- Matric
- Relevant Tertiary qualification / Certifications
- Strong proficiency in Go and Java
- Hands-on experience with AWS container services
- CI/CD pipeline design (e.g. GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or equivalent) and Docker/container fundamentals
- Track record leading platform or application migrations at scale
