About the role
Our client in the printing, signage and branding industry is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team in Rustenburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations, calculating project costs, interpreting client requirements and working closely with sales, suppliers and production to ensure profitable and accurate costing.
- Prepare detailed quotations and estimates for printing, signage and branding projects
- Review customer briefs, specifications, artwork, quantities and production requirements
- Calculate material, labour, production and related project costs
- Obtain supplier quotations and confirm pricing where required
- Liaise with clients to clarify specifications and requirements
- Work closely with the sales and production teams throughout the quoting process
- Ensure quotations are accurate, competitive and commercially viable
- Follow up on quotations and assist with converting quotations into confirmed orders
- Maintain accurate costing records and job information
- Identify potential costing risks and ensure margins are protected
- Assist with project planning and production-related costing where required
- Meet quotation deadlines and turnaround times
What they're looking for
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience as an Estimator in the printing, signage, branding, advertising or production industry
- Strong understanding of printing and signage processes, materials and production requirements
- Good numerical and costing skills
- Strong Excel and computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to interpret client specifications and translate these into accurate quotations
Advantageous
- Experience with large-format printing and signage
- Experience costing materials such as vinyl, PVC, acrylic, boards, banners and related signage products
- Experience working with production/job costing software
- Experience dealing directly with clients and suppliers
