About the role

An established and progressive agricultural business is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee commercial fruit production. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong orchard management experience in apples, pears and/or citrus.

• Manage daily orchard operations.
• Plan and oversee irrigation and fertilisation programmes.
• Coordinate pruning, thinning and harvesting activities.
• Monitor crop health and implement pest and disease control programmes.
• Lead, train and supervise production teams.
• Ensure compliance with GlobalG.A.P., SIZA and company standards.
• Manage production budgets, records and reporting.
• Drive productivity and continuous improvement across the farming operation.

What they're looking for

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience managing commercial fruit production.
• Proven experience with apple, pear and/or citrus orchards.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation, fertilisation, pruning, thinning and pest & disease management.
• Experience managing seasonal and permanent labour.
• Sound understanding of GlobalG.A.P. and SIZA standards.
• Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills.
• Computer literate.
• Valid driver's licence.
