About the role

Our client is seeking a polished and professional Receptionist / Switchboard Operator to join the guest services team at a prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who combines exceptional communication skills with a warm personality, strong administration and the confidence to engage with discerning local and international guests.

• As one of the first points of contact, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
• Responsibilities include warmly welcoming arriving and departing guests, providing information about the estate's facilities and experiences, directing guests to the appropriate outlets and conducting estate tours when required
• You will operate the telephone and switchboard service, professionally manage incoming calls and enquiries, and ensure calls and information are directed to the appropriate departments.
• The role also involves maintaining and distributing operational information, communicating restaurant lunch and dinner bookings to relevant teams and ensuring management is kept informed of guest feedback or concerns.

What they're looking for

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Hospitality qualification advantageous
• 1–2 years' previous reception experience preferred
• Previous luxury hospitality, wine estate or premium guest services experience advantageous
• Excellent telephone and switchboard etiquette
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confident interacting with distinguished clientele
• Warm, professional and enthusiastic personality
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments
• Professional presentation and grooming
• Able to remain composed and guest focused during busy periods
• Comfortable being on your feet and working extended hospitality shifts
• Available for evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
