About the role

We are looking for an experienced Reservationist to join a prestigious 5-star luxury lodge operation in the Eastern Cape. The successful candidate must have previous reservations experience within a 5-star luxury hospitality environment, together with strong guest communication, administration and sales skills. This position is ideally suited to a professional, highly organised individual who enjoys creating exceptional guest experiences from the very first enquiry.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to website, email and telephonic enquiries accurately, professionally and timeously
• Handle guest enquiries and build rapport throughout the booking process
• Provide accurate quotations and reservation information
• Capture and maintain detailed reservations accurately
• Ensure guest profiles and client database information are complete and up to date
• Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate where necessary
• Maintain effective relationships with guests and clients
• Assist with reservations administration and departmental systems
• Maximise revenue through upselling and cross-selling additional services and experiences
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of the lodges, activities, facilities and unique selling points
• Communicate special guest requirements and booking instructions to the relevant lodges and departments
• Follow up on special arrangements to ensure guest requirements are met
• Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism

Working Hours

The position operates on rotational shifts, which may include:

07:00 – 16:00

09:00 – 18:00

12:00 – 21:00

08:00 – 16:00 on weekends and public holidays

Package

Salary: R17,500 per month

Work Cycle: 21 days on / 7 days off

Accommodation: Live-in accommodation provided

Meals: Not included

What they're looking for

• Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification from a reputable hotel school
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar reservations position within a 5-star luxury property – non-negotiable
• Previous Front of House experience within a 5-star luxury property
• Strong reservations and guest relations experience
• Experience with Protel PMS
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Previous telesales and/or upselling experience
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and administrative ability
• Highly organised and able to work independently
• Able to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced luxury hospitality environment
• Professional, guest-focused and sales-driven
• Willing and able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
