About the role

Our client is seeking a professional and organised Restaurant Reservations Coordinator to join the Food & Beverage team of a luxury hotel in Durban. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and experience handling restaurant bookings and guest enquiries.

• The Restaurant Reservations Coordinator will be responsible for managing restaurant reservations and ensuring guests receive professional, efficient and friendly service from their first point of contact.
• You will handle incoming restaurant booking enquiries via telephone, email and other reservation channels, accurately capture guest details and maintain up-to-date reservation records.
• The role includes confirming bookings, managing amendments and cancellations, recording special occasions and dietary requirements, and communicating VIP bookings, group reservations and special requests to the relevant restaurant and Food & Beverage teams.
• You will assist with table planning and reservation administration while helping maximise restaurant availability and ensuring smooth communication between guests and operational teams.

What they're looking for

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Previous restaurant reservations, restaurant reception, hostess or hospitality experience preferred
• Experience within a hotel or busy restaurant environment advantageous
• Excellent telephone etiquette and professional communication skills
• Strong written and spoken English
• Confident handling guest enquiries and reservation requests
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with restaurant reservation and computer systems
• Able to manage multiple bookings and enquiries in a busy environment
• Professional, well presented and guest focused
• Ability to work effectively as part of a Food & Beverage team
• Available to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required
