About the role
Contract | Hybrid Opportunity in Cape Town Leading Financial Services Group requires a Senior Integration & API Security Engineer to join their dynamic team in modernising API and security platforms.
- Build and test secure API architecture prototypes in a non-production environment.
- Implement modern authentication and identity solutions including OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, and API security best practices.
- Assess the impact of security upgrades on existing API consumers and applications.
- Conduct gap analysis and provide practical remediation recommendations.
- Develop technical playbooks, implementation guides, and migration strategies.
- Work closely with architects, platform teams, and stakeholders to drive adoption.
What they're looking for
- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification / Certifications
- 8-10+ years' experience in Integration Engineering, API Platforms, or API Security.
- Proven hands-on experience implementing API security, Identity & Access Management (IAM), OAuth/OIDC, and API Gateway solutions.
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale integration or security architecture initiatives.
- Strong background assessing and remediating integrations across multiple technology environments (Java, .NET, Node.js, etc.).
