About the role
Our client based in Menlyn is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their team on a long-term contract until December 2029
Duties:
- Develop and maintain applications using Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Python and Node.js, following best coding and development practices.
- Design and develop databases and APIs, working with SQL, PostgreSQL, RDBMS, DynamoDB, JPA/Hibernate and RESTful services.
- Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, using AWS services, AWS CDK and Terraform to provision and maintain scalable environments.
- Implement DevOps and deployment practices, using Git/GitHub, Maven, Docker and CI/CD processes to support reliable application releases.
- Develop, test and maintain web applications, using JavaScript and Angular, while applying tools such as Sonar for code quality, security and maintainability.
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
- Advanced skills in Angular for frontend development
- Experience with NPM for package management
- Familiarity with CodeCommit for source control
- Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Knowledge of Oracle databases
- Understanding and experience with Generative AI use cases or projects
- Coaching and giving training to fellow colleagues and users when required.
- Problem solving capabilities.
- Strong presentation skills
What they're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a similar qualification.
- 5+ years Extensive experience in full-stack development across various technologies
- Proven track record of successful project delivery in a similar role
