About the role
We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with deep Kafka platform expertise to own the reliability, security, and automation of our event-streaming environment.
- Operate and support production Kafka platforms (monitoring, incident response, debugging, performance tuning).
- Plan and execute upgrades, patching, and platform lifecycle activities.
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure Kafka architecture.
- Automate infrastructure and operational workflows using DevOps and IaC practices.
- Partner with application teams to onboard workloads and improve platform standards.
What they're looking for
- 6+ years in Systems/Platform Engineering.
- 4+ years hands-on Kafka administration (preferably Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud).
- Strong DevOps and automation skills (Python/Bash, CI/CD, Terraform/Ansible).
- Solid Linux skills and troubleshooting experience.
- Cloud experience, preferably Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka security (TLS/SSL, SASL, ACLs).
- Experience building observability with tools like Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Azure Monitor.
